International Tug of War Tournament 2026

Dear Tug of War friends,

Our Tug of War club T.T.V. Vios Bison are organizing an International Tug of War Tournament on 15 and 16 May 2026 for Tug of War clubs from all over the world.
We hope and strive to once again organize a spectacular and successful tournament, such as in 1995 and 2010!

Weight Classes

Friday 15 May

  • Morning: Men 600 kg – Ladies 520 kg
  • Afternoon: Men 700 kg – Under 23 Men 600 kg (Open European Cup)

Saturday 16 May

  • Morning: Mixed 580 kg – Under 19 (Youth) 560 kg
  • Afternoon: Men 640 kg – Under 23 Mixed 560 kg (GENSB Rules)

For all weight classes there will be semi-finals where 4 or more teams are taking part.

Thursday 14 May 2026

  • Arrival of teams
  • Individual weighing (available from 14:00)
  • Secretariat / admin office open from 12:00–20:00

Friday 15 May & Saturday 16 May

  • Tug of War competition
  • Secretariat / admin office open from 07:00–19:00

Sunday 17 May

  • Departure of teams

Rules – Youth U19 560 kg & U23 Mixed 560 kg (GENSB Rules)

Youth

  • The weight class is 560 kg regardless of the number of players, including a maximum of 1 girl.
  • Minimum 5 – maximum 10 players.
  • Substitutes are allowed. Substitutes will receive 2 stamps at weighing.
  • After weighing, the number of players and substitutes are recorded on the weighing form.
  • A maximum of 2 substitutes per team is allowed.
  • Youth must pull in one club outfit – unity of outfit required.
  • Youth are allowed to participate from the age of 8 years (born in 2018) up to the year in which the youth member reaches the age of 19 years (born in 2007).

GENSB Rules

  1. A puller is allowed to participate in a GENSB tournament from the beginning of the year they reach the age of 12 until the end of the year they reach the age of 23.
  2. Mixed teams are allowed.
  3. The weight class is 560 kg.
  4. A team consists of 7 to 10 players.
  5. Teams consisting of girls are allowed 10 kg extra per girl, up to a maximum of 600 kg.
  6. Teams must be dressed in one club outfit – unity of outfit required.
